I have a kid. I love her deeply. I love her friends. I love stranger’s kids. I gotta be honest, I *don’t* like kids (or adults for that matter) that don’t take other people into consideration and behave as though their current drive is the only thing that matters. We live in a society and if we are to be good neighbors we should be considering those around us and the location we’re in. I get that young kids cry on planes, I know that kids in groups get excited and sometimes get a bit boisterous. I also know that kids running around restaurants is dangerous and disruptive, and the expectation I have as both a parent and a former server is that parents respond to bad public behaviors. Kids (and adults alike) should not be able to just run amok in any which way, which is kinda what it sounds like you’re advocating for here. There needs to be some allowances for children as they learn, but there are also expectations that they do.

What if they are destructive and have zero self control? Just supposed to love it?
