You can have a diamond grown from their hair or ashes! I saved my soul girls hair and had some of it turned into a diamond pendant necklace after I lost her and it is hands down my most precious possession now. I never take it off

I have clipping of my (alive) dog's hair in a plastic bag and it is completely okay, but I did it immediately after a full bath and blow dry with a high velocity dryer (Im a dog groomer) if you have the ability to, ask your dog's groomer to take a washed and dried clipping of your dog's hair for you before your pet passes

My boy passed 3 years ago, I had it in a small ziplock… I just checked cuz you got me nervous 🐾 it still smelled like him, clean from his last bath. But I moved it to a strong paper gift envelope just in case so time doesn’t get a second chance to make me sad.

That’s good to know. I kept Monty’s fur in a small box, almost like a jewelry gift box. I wish I had gotten more, but I’m so grateful my mom thought quickly and saved the fur they shaved before giving him his final dose. Of all his keepsakes, his fur means the most to me. Almost a year later, it still smells like him.

Not a dog, but I did that with my cat's hair when we put him to sleep and I accidentally threw away my keepsake 😭

You can also have brushing a of undercoat spun into yarn and made into a keepsake. I have don’t that for friends

I have a container of fur from when my boy passed. Then I found a bag of fur from when I was brushing him once. Thankfully the fur was all ok. I still sometimes sit and pet that fur when I miss him.
