I think the Michelin star is the best rating system ever invented. lets you sort things into 4 neatly defined categories: your favorites, things you love, things you like, and things you wouldnt recommend

decimals work when you start comparing with other stuff (so you liked it more than a 6.6 but not more than 6.8 so u make it 6.7)

Once you start watching hundreds of shows or movies not all 8s are gonna be the same level of 8, so why not make some a 7.8 and others an 8.2 it just makes it simpler

I just use decimals if there are multiple movies that have the same ranking so I can differentiate the two
