MY ADVICE
Home healthcare nurisng and community nursing itself is a recognised aspect of nursing practice. The issue, therefore, is not simply that you provide care in patients' homes, but whether the specific services you offer, the procedures performed, the personnel involved, their qualifications and competence, supervision, clinical responsibility, and overall manner of service delivery comply with applicable professional standards.
I strongly encourage you to engage directly with the NMCN. Present your promotional materials, explain your services and personnel, and obtain formal regulatory clarification. If the Council confirms that your activities comply with the applicable framework, that should provide professional clarity and resolve much of the controversy. If deficiencies are identified, you will have an opportunity to correct them with authoritative guidance.
Innovation and entrepreneurship in nursing should be encouraged, but they must operate within the limits of professional regulation, competence, ethics, accountability, and patient safety.
This matter should therefore be approached through regulatory engagement rather than insults, public attacks, or professional antagonism. The objective should be resolution, not confrontation.
My position is straightforward: engage the NMCN, obtain clear guidance, eliminate any regulatory ambiguity, and ensure that your services, personnel, procedures, and operations remain firmly within the appropriate professional framework. Ultimately, the priority should be protecting patients while allowing legitimate innovation within nursing to thrive.
