I do exactly the same thing, and much of the time I use phrases such as “I didn’t care for this product, but you might like it, find out for yourself” or like you said “I don’t care for this particular flavor, but that doesn’t mean their other flavors aren’t wonderful”. There are so many ways to present the product professionally, and in an honest manner while keeping the integrity of the brand intact.

I made a video about some car window shades. The ones I filmed about happened to be slightly defective, so I said in the video that I didn't love them because they didn't meet my expectations. I still gave an honest review and sold the product. I actually still use those same shades myself, defect and all.

At first I would just make a very generic video about it like not lying but not telling how I felt about it. I’d just describe it. But now I just am honest. I always say I know others like it or that somebody else might like it. I love things that others hate! That’s life.

Same! I recently had a product come in defective. I did a video showing the manufacturer error and then followed up with video showing how the replacement came fast and correct. I’d rather show my audience the whole story vs just talking about the product. This happens in real life, why not talk about it? 💚
