@juliakuhnslp: Replying to @🧿Lila while the exact percentage of risk isn’t clear to me having a mastectomy does not 100% eliminate your chance of breast cancer and unfortunately doing a nipple sparing double mastectomy likely increases the risk slightly, although maybe by a percentage or two. This is definitely something I struggled with when I found out I was BRCA2 positive and debating if I wanted to get a mastectomy with or without the nipple sparing. I think it’s good to talk to your provider and see what they recommend based on your own risk factors and what level of risk you’re wanting to take throughout your lifetime. #brca2 #previvor #prophylacticdoublemastectomy #brca #brcastrong
