Character analysis here with spoilers because I want to like info dump my thoughts (Amelia has been my favourite character for like I was 8-10, I am now nearly 21 😂). Okay so, my favourite part of Amelia is that she is too much. All of her emotions are big. She loves hard, and a lot of her love (due to grief) has nowhere to go. Especially in earlier seasons, she operates on such a high level of emotion and it overwhelms her. Which is how it feels for me, as an autistic person. Not saying she’s autistic, but it’s also shown in later seasons especially since the tumour, how her emotional regulation and coping skills have grown so much. But early seasons Amelia is so much and that’s the main reason some people don’t like her but it’s why a lot of people do as well. She also applies logic to all situations, so if she’s upset she tends to say ‘but I’m doing this’ ‘but I did that’ yada yada because she feels like she needs a reason to feel/not feel her emotions (depending on the situation). Take the scene from season 11 when she’s talking to Owen for example. She’s basically saying all this bad stuff is happening/happened and I am spiralling but I’m so well achieved wondering why I can’t be happy for my achievements, why am I still struggling. Random thought dump but I think about it a lot
