@writany_: You’re never going to watch Richard Armitage’s scene in Captain America: The First Avenger the same way again 😳 At the panel, Richard shared what it was actually like filming it: from nearly losing control of a souped-up taxi to filming the submarine sequence with Chris Evans. The scene was supposed to involve his character Heinrich Kruger grabbing an oxygen mask as the submarine filled with water. The problem? The water came in so quickly that Richard didn’t have time. After filming the take, he went back to his dressing room and broke down crying. And even after that, when the director asked if he could do another take, he somehow found the courage to go back in. Why? “Because it’s Marvel. It’s Kevin Feige.” 🫡 Richard even told us that he believes the take they ultimately used in the movie was the one where he genuinely experienced that terrifying moment. Hearing the story while watching the actual scene play out makes it hit very differently. And yes, the experience was enough to make Richard hate water and scuba diving to this day. This is exactly why I love convention panels: hearing the stories behind the scenes from the people who were actually there! #richardarmitage #captainamerica #thefirstavenger #Marvel
