@ugandahistoryarchives: Kampala, Uganda, February 1971 – A meeting of historic symbolism was held in the Ugandan capital when Field Marshal Idi Amin Dada received a delegation of former royal rulers and members of Uganda’s most prominent traditional families. The occasion drew together figures connected to the country’s deep cultural past, even as the new Head of State reaffirmed the republican path of Uganda’s future. Relatives of the late Kabaka of Buganda, the largest of the kingdoms, were present, along with Lady Damalie Catherine NnakawombeKisosonkole, Prince Badru, Prince Ssimbwa, and Princess Mazzi. The gathering was further dignified by the attendance of Kaboyo Olimi III, Omukama of Tooro, Omukama Tito Winyi Gafabusa, King of Bunyoro, and Sir Charles Gasyonga II, Omugabe of Ankole. When I read books about Uganda's history I only see 4 kingdoms, Buganda, Bunyoro, Tooro and Ankole. Where were those kingdoms plus their Kings which I hear these days?! ie Omukhukha, Kyabazinga, Omumbere, Emolimoli, etc
