@gwrldmediagames: "Valor Mortis" is a first-person soulslike from the Ghostrunner devs where you play an undead Napoleonic soldier with dark powers. You rise from the dead as a former soldier of Napoleon's army, in a fictional 19th century Europe wrecked by war and plague. A corrupted substance called Nephtoglobin is turning people into bulbous, many-armed abominations, and Napoleon's own voice follows you through it. The look sits somewhere between BioShock and Bloodborne, which is not a comparison many games earn. Combat is brutal and methodical, built around the Rapier, a high-skill melee weapon that rewards well-timed parries and precise dodges rather than mashing. What makes it distinct is the traversal inherited from Ghostrunner: a grapple hook and wall-running let you flank enemies from above, so fights use vertical space in a way soulslikes rarely do. Levels are Metroidvania-shaped, with shortcuts and locked routes opening up as you go.
