literally three videos down was an author being turned away from a publisher because “gen z doesn’t like to think” and her story was “asking too much of the reader” and then suggested they water it down with sex scenes and an ‘enemies to lovers’ plot. THAT is why we can’t find good books.

I'm pretty tired of smut slop. I'll pick up a book with a premise that I think could really go somewhere, and the first three pages are like, "I'm a short badass recently escaped mental patient and these guys are gods." meanwhile the blurb made it seem like this was a really good dystopian fantasy. I'm over it.
