So to clear up the speculation the person or thing that was standing in front of him was a mimic the crying u heard in the background was the actual person screaming that the mimic was impersonating the reason the mimic didn’t attack was because he didn’t allow it to which is why it groaned and moaned like that mimics get frustrated easily when they can’t manipulate the person they’re talking to or interacting with
