thing is im hardly even "high functioning". Im a complete mess on the inside, I lash out all the tjme at home, my meltdowns are intense, but I appear "high functioning" to everyone else. I honestly find the term "high functioning" insulting to me, even though I understand its the correct medical term.

ppl act like its just a sticker or a badge that doesn't actually mean anything if you "walk and talk" or "work and drive" ... Basically do all of the things they encourage because they believe in lower functioning people or literal children with asd having the ability to do one day
