I’ve been diagnosed since 2003, fully disabled (to the point I became mostly housebound) in 2011. I feel like I’ve tried *everything*. Sitting upright is the most painful (hEDS+ an avulsion fracture of my ischial tuberosity as a teenager), lying down is tolerable, zero-gravity recliners help, but I need to constantly be rotating my position. If I do too much, or even the wrong thing once, I fall into a pain spiral that becomes very hard to break… the only thing worse is the pain that comes from having to rest one injury for too long, and now atrophy/disuse is affecting my other joints. It’s a never-ending tightrope walk. Sometimes I wonder what’s more exhausting: the condition itself, or the mental strain of trying to manage it.

I absolutely can not stay in bed. I avoid sleeping too. It’s so painful to be in bed. I’m and up and down all day. Moving around helps, but too much makes it worse. Sitting down helps, but too much makes it worse. lol
