If you personally know that she is comforting and that she would probably understand, then please do, I was also like you as I eventually needed to ask for help as it was never ending for me, the best decision I made was to tell someone, please tell someone who you know you can trust and will help you get better, I promise you it does get better! 💞

Idk if it helps but if theres any safe adult in your school/extracurriculars you can say that you hurt yourself and would like them to send an email explaining the situation, or if your not comfortable right out saying it, writing a letter and asking them to read it or pass it on might work!

i dont know how good your relationship with her is but i recommend sitting down just the two of you and start with how you’re struggling with your mental health and lead into it, it probably will be a lot to process for her so stay patient even though it’s hard, or you could write it in a letter give it to her and let her process alone before speaking about it and only tell her if you know she won’t get mad at you for it or use it against you for your own safety just incase, i believe in you and hope you get all the support you need and get better 🩵

I’ve found letters are good at telling people things you don’t really want to say out loud, but be there when she reads it, and be ready for questions (if she asks). My mum found out because my school found out and that moment really made me regret not telling her myself.

if you know she’ll be comforting and supportive only then you should, ask her for like a really important chat and specify to her that this was really hard for you to tell her etc, then start by maybe saying the feelings that made you sh then start soft launching it the fact you sh, if youre not comfortable with the idea of actually telling her yourself you can go to your schools safeguarding or fave teacher and they’ll work with you on how to approach your mum with this cuz they leaglly cant hide it from her, hope this helps!!

To everyone scared of their mom finding out, mine found out earlier this year when I was wearing (breathable) arm warmers to cover up my scars. She pulled them down asking if they weren’t too hot to wear right now. She stared at them for a second but told me we’ll talk about it later and just went on talking to my step dad (we were having dinner) after that we sat outside for about 30 minutes and she told me she had been suspecting since last year august. She wasn’t mad at me, just a little disappointed, but took it really well. I haven’t felt judged by her ever for my scars. Obviously I don’t know how your moms are, i’m just trying to make it a little easier for ya’ll💗
