I called out Henry, the owner of Barrio Athletics, a long time ago, and people still chose to fuck with him. He was very loud and ignorantly outspoken on his personal page during the ICE raids and protests. He had plenty to say about people protesting without American flags and about Waymos being burned. He had plenty to say about how wrong the protesters were, but was crickets when it came to actually advocating for immigrants, speaking out against what was happening to our community, or providing resources to the people being impacted. And if he truly cared about "community" he would have spoken to the people of Leimert Park before announcing his run and taking up space in a community with its own history, Sunday traditions, and people. This goes much deeper than just a run. It is about what it actually means to show up for a community instead of only using the word when it benefits you.

I grew up south-central and I hung all out in Lamont Park and when I hung out in Lamar Park, it was black and the Hispanic came and then we all got along at some point lol but we all need to stop with this black Hispanic bullshit because that’s exactly what the people in the White House and the politicians They want us to fight each other.
