@marathonnursemum: 1. Gap of Dunloe ... 731 metres of elevation through the Kerry mountains. A Hardman event, one aid station at 21km and the odd steward .. massive stretches of just you and the road.. this was a marathon where you truly exposed yourself as a runner. The scenery was stunning, a unique run! 2. Westport Marathon.. 327metres of elevation. Lots of drags and quite lonely in stretches but absolutely beautiful scenery, the support coming back into town was unreal and the atmosphere all weekend was electric. I really loved this one!! 3. Dublin Marathon.. 194 metres of elevation. Nothing beats the atmosphere of Dublin, it's electric , the crowds are hard to beat..I loved this run, everything clicked for this one. It was the marathon that made me fall in love with this distance 4. Cork Marathon.. 197 metres of elevation .everyone worries about the hills of cork but I found the drags in Dublin worse and there isn't much between them elevation wise. Being from Cork this had to feature in my top 5. The crowds , the atmosphere, the only thing is it can be super warm as it's on the June bank holiday weekend. A fantastic day, I love this one , lots of areas of cork covered ... favourite part is going through one particular estate and being hosed down by the residents... eternally grateful! 5.Belfast Marathon.. 187 metres elevation. This was my least favourite. I just didn't like it at all. And I got a PB at it..what I will say is the crowds are absolutely unbelievable!!! Iv ran 7 marathons in total, Cork and Dublin twice. And what iv taken away....it's not the time you get but the experience you take from it makes you the real winner 🏆

It's funny you should say that about Belfast. It's also where I got my PB but was also my least favourite! My 1st Marathon in Dublin 2019 will always be my favourite. I think the innocence of the 1st marathon is special 🥰

well done [Power][Power][Power][Power] gap of Dunloe is on my bucket list..I did lap of the gap through Sally Gap back in may and like that big elevation and not many aid stations although there was more than at half way for it. big difference from the usual marathon experience though, felt more like a long run.
