Am I crazy to think that any form of csam, photo realistic or cartoon should be illegal? Artistic expression or not, there is something fundamentally wrong with anyone who creates or intentionally views that type of image.

Not crazy. I feel it’s absolutely a travesty to legally allow any type of possession of csam material of any kind. Whether it is photorealistic or not. It’s still a mental illness and letting adults possess it, even in private, is promoting the illness and not treating it like it is: a potential danger to children and society.

perhaps it's possible they don't understand the technology? I was kinda assuming these photo realistic pieces were created from nothing, not original pictures being altered... I think it's even worse because images are like a position of character, & altering a moment feels like giving it life ... if they're into these images I don't think they should train them to do ... things... . would it really be crazy to just not allow it to be seen at all. how is it legal to be held at home?

Plus, a lot of people in the real world don’t know the difference between AI and real videos so they might feel like well. Everyone’s doing it. Why don’t I? There’s just so many things wrong with that rule and it’s terrible.

What you are talking about is bad policy. Judges are just supposed to interpret the law, the legal reasoning here may be correct—and I agree the policy is terrible. This is a problem for Congress, not a judge

I agree with your angle on the eminent harm and the connection to the propensities. It’s fucken sickening that it has to be explained, there is no purpose for that material. Even if it was a fucken cartoon, none of that should exist. Not Crazy!💚

Not to mention the fact that if it's photo-realistic, then eventually we get to a point where no one can tell if it is real or fake, leading to a situation where the possession of real material might stop getting recognized as illegal.
