@erikagrundon: when the avoidant creates distance after a difficult conversation #anxiousattachment #attachmentstyle #avoidantattachmentstyle #avoidant #avoidantbehavior
Why the fuck do we always have to cater to the clingy one? why does the avoidant one always have to be the one who changed their boundaries? When they're not hurting anyone

Here’s your regular reminder to the anxiously attached girlies that your attachment style is just as unhealthy as avoidant. Both are insecure attachment styles and that doesn’t mean everyone is victimizing you all the time!

The avoidant is very much in the right, the clingy one always being catered to regardless of scenario is beyond obnoxious

Yall THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE WALK OR NEEDING SPACE. The problem is that whatever they were discussing was not resolved and the avoidant wanting to escape with no promise of restoring closeness makes the other person feel like they’re being punished for bringing up an issue. A simple “I love you, I’m not mad, we can do xyz together when I get back” would do wonders here.

As much as everest is exaggerating the avoidant… christ I’d hate to deal with that kind of clinginess. Nothing wrong with being close, but some people need SPACE and a little time to process sometimes. People are allowed to be by themselves for a little bit.

Why are we acting like the avoidant’s need for some space is not as valid as the anxious need for closeness? These just seem like two incompatible people.

Obviously the 3 month trip would be odd, but if I had a difficult conversation with my partner and then they wanted to be with me 24/7 immediately after??? It makes complete sense to need some time to yourself after any form of confrontation.

This comment section fxckin sucks 😭😭 why are yall genuinely tryna validate being distant from your partner after a disagreement. The walk isn’t problem— it’s the tension after the argument. Simply put “hey, I love you. This disagreement won’t cause this relationship to crumble”. That’s literally all it is. It’s extremely unfair to make 1 person do all the repair work. That’s genuinely not ok.

“I just want some closeness after that conversation” already trying to claw my skin off from the neediness 😭

The talk happening at all is already the compromise wanting closeness. After the compromise for communication is wanting exactly what you want to have happen and trying to force that instead of agreeing on the compromise, which is having the talk. And then letting me avoid into take your space

My wife is anxious attachment (wlw) when I explained that her attachment was overwhelming when we argue because we can’t take breaks when it gets intense. It became “you don’t want to be with me anymore” then demand that I spill every single thought I have ever had. The space is needed but not Mt Everest

avoidants need space to regulate their emotions. but its their responsibility to come back to the conversation. Just give them the space, hold them accountable to coming back, but dont push your "needs" on them until they are back and calmed down.

Its so funny to be how all the avoidants in the comment section immediately burst into angry comments about “catering to the anxious” when the avoidant is quite literally the center of the problem by being in a relationship they clearly dont want. Then avoiding the responsibilities of a relationship. Its so baffling to me.

I watched the full thing and still think they were being too needy. just let them go for a walk if they had it probably wouldn't have escalated to mt Everest

Hoodie ends up going to Everest because tank top won’t leave her tf alone about just going for a walk by herself. Accidental lesson in there

the whole Everest thing is so over exaggerated that it makes your entire skit look meaningless. yes someone with avoidant attachment needs space. yes someone with anxious attachment needs the closeness. but the anxious should’ve ALSO just let them go for their walk, and the avoidant should’ve just communicated better, but having the avoidant be like “well I’m going to Everest for 3 months bye!!!!” is so nonsensical that this just feels like a “gotcha” moment rather than any type of productive video
