@gigaqian: Researchers at Tsinghua University just demonstrated robotic matter that can switch between solid-like and liquid-like behavior, reconfigure itself, move collectively, and even grasp and transport objects. The interesting part isn’t that it literally “melts.” It doesn’t. The system is built from simple one-motor TriHex modules whose collective behavior can be programmed to change stiffness, viscosity, porosity, shape, and movement.
