My oldest daughter has Alpha-Gal and it was definitely hard at first for the first few months. Now we are 1 1/2 years in to this diet change. Still yet she craves a burger and ribs. We have tried multiple recipes but coming from my 9 years olds words “it’s not the same. I want that rip and tear. I want to have real meat”. As a household we have completely changed our diets to fit hers. Makes it easier and supportive.

My mom had alpha gal and it was hell for her. She initially went to the ER for anaphylaxis from an unknown source and a nurse suggested she look into alpha gal as she likes to hike in the Missouri woods. She saw a specialist and learned she had alpha gal. She stopped even going out to eat because she couldn’t have anything cross contaminated. She couldn’t even eat anything cooked with butter. 6 years later and her numbers are now normal and she can have all the things again! We thank god for that nurse everyday

It’s not a joke, you can live without mammal products, but you also can’t consume gelatin or gel capsules for supplements/medications, certain medications, in some cases dairy, have to be on the lookout for every label if it contains animal products
