I just feel like this trend feeds into women not having our medical and mental issues taken seriously. We're already more likely to be misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all. We're "faking" our ailment when we're not struggling but we're also "being dramatic" when we are struggling.

Brother: SHE WAS! autism affects people differently, and it's not like she said something universal like "being autistic sucks", she specifically said "I (referring to herself) hate being autistic". Like . . . I know I'm caught up on a different reason that was dumb but come on, telling someone to speak for themselves and disregard their feelings while they literally worth speaking for themselves just pisses me off. (Also before anyone argues with me for even saying anything on the topic: hi, I am also autistic. not because I want to be quirky, genuine diagnosis.)
