Part of this is that she's in San Antonio and was insinuating people here were poor. The other part of this is that her father owns a well known restaurant in town so I think she was feeling super confident in her cake 🎂

If the cake SLICE was worth $8 no one would have a problem with paying ….but it’s LITERALLY box cake with a micro thin layer of premade frosting ……..she missed her target however she can definitely pivot ….hopefully she takes this advice

This was some great advice but as a baker myself they aren’t only paying for a slice of cake. We calculate the cost of everything, well I do anyway. They are paying for 1. My labor, 2. Ingredients, 3. Packaging supplies, and once all that is calculated per slice $8 is very affordable and reasonable for 1 slice of cake. If Nothing Bundt Cakes can sell their box cakes for $8 I wholeheartedly believe home based bakers can as well long as the quality matches the price.

EXACTLY!!!! to me it’s not about the cake… to me it’s false advertising 😭😭 it’s nothing nasty about the cake 😭 i need to feel the gluttony in the cake if it’s “big nasty” idc about no 8 dollars.. it’s never about the money for me personally

Go to Publix. Do you think Grocery stores bake cakes from scratch? As a matter of fact, they don't bake them at all. They arrive baked and frozen. You have no idea when they were baked! All the stores do is ice the cakes and they get that frosting from a bucket of pre-made frosting. If rather pay $8 for a fresh slice than buy a slice from the store.
