Just reach out. Yesterday evening, one of them did. This is her. She’s a senior. Emaciated. Her body has been surviving, not living. Horses like her don’t have time on their side. Even a few more days without intervention can mean organ failure, collapse, or worse. Refeeding a horse like this isn’t quick or cheap. She needs careful nutrition, dentals, farrier care, vet oversight — and time. A lot of it. The reality is also this: seniors don’t get adopted easily. Her best chance is to gain weight, rebuild strength, and eventually enter a therapy program — or find the rare home looking for a senior companion. My goal today is $5,000 — not just to “save” her, but to set her up for long-term success with us. This is one horse but she represents what I hope will be hundreds we can intercept this year before they ever reach the auction pipeline. How amazing would that be? I can’t do this without you.
