wonder how everyone would feel if the kids went to a Pentecostal church and asked to observe snake handling and speaking in tongues, or a catholic church that had a canonical lawyer speak of excommunication or Process of Remission….

schools should not discuss religion etc. that is not a function of the school system.

Lefties would have made the news complaining anf protesting of a 1st amendment violation if they went to a church.

Crazy cuckoo lawsuit. Even more so that it’s with PA parents whose kids were enrolled in a social studies track with world religions 🙄. Throw it out. Such a waste of resources.

Florida and Texas has labeled CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist or criminal entities, accusing them of shared networks and international support agendas.

They’re right! Any field trip off campus needs specified permission from the parent - wasn’t done- they should win

My daughter used to go to an Islamic school that was adjacent to a mosque. Sometimes they would have visitors/students and chaperons from a different school that would come for a couple of hours to learn about Islam as part of a class. The school cafeteria always give them food for free because they were guests there and that’s how we treat our guests. The classes would leave and that was the end of it! My kids have visited a church as part of their curriculum while in middle school. This whole law suite is so stupid! It only shows those parents Islamophobic behavior.

Religion as a subject of study vs advocating a religion are two different things. Children need to know various faiths of the world, and underlying social conflicts in order to build a more peaceful future society that this generation has failed.

Invalid lawsuit. Separation of church and state is in regards to goverment. Has nothing to do with an optional field trip.

People who fail to realize that even in middle school world history looks many religions Muslim being one of them. Ethnic studies focuses on the main religions (Muslim is one of them!) So wild these parents are mad. I have a 9th and 8th grader and I wish they had the opportunity to do that field trip. Palo Alto is full of entitled parents

Most schools get parents to (rightly) sign waivers etc ahead of *any* field trip, where students leave the school premises. If the parents had signed these waivers, they should have no case. However if the school “sneaked”the kids off to the masjid then the parents have every right to file suit. Let’s see what happens!
