I have seen time and time again that tasers do not work on mentally ill people, especially when they’re in an episode. I believe that the officer did exactly what he needed to do from beginning to end.

The officer could have just shot him at the foot. He didn't have a weapon. I think this could have been handled differently.

why can they not use tranquilizers like they would a dangerous animal? it brings animals down immediately. I've often wondered this. they aren't themselves in a mental crisis or possession.

mental health calls should have more than one officer. They should never go alone. It's a sad outcome for both parties in this particular situation.

The officer did NOTHING wrong. These damn comments are exactly why there are so many lunatics running around. There are services available for these people. But if someone forces them to use them, it’s a violation of their rights. So what exactly would you have the officer do? Taze him so he can go to brief hospital stay and walk out to do it all over again?

If I have a naked man covered in blood bust through a window, I'm not taking chances. Could be on PCP or Meth, and even if they are mentally ill it can still result in a similar situation as if on the drugs when they are enraged. Cop was being threatened with his life the entire time and the man's final actions sealed the idea his life was near being taken
