yes I was very similar, was on PCA and epi for just over 8 days, which was so hard. got a super bug which was horrendous but finally got out six weeks later and then straight to rehab, but was using pam aid for the first month and then tried to get walking with a prothesis in rehab which was hard and leg got worse. I ended up being transferred straight back to back from rehab to hospital for four months to get three more surgeries which were unsuccessful and the second amputation! you should be very proud of yourself! a double amputation is so hard and I am sure when u start rehab you will be learning how to stand first then sit and stand, balance work, which I know right now it must be hard for you but don't worry you will get better hopefully and God willing then learn to walk in the bars!! you have a long journey ahead, but when u get out of bars! that will be such an incredible moment and just take it all in. Go at your pace, try not compare yourself to the other Amputees. you will be going through grief process but we are here to lift you up girl and encourage you not to give up along with your family and your fiance! he will be right by your side as he has been!! your mom and dad will guide you and encourage you!! your digital family will be there cheering you on. just place take this whole process at your pace and don't feel like you have to rush or speed up because everyone wants you to trust I learnt the hard way. I was in rehab for over three times and it took a long time until I got onto the crutches. if you need to use a walker to help you or walking aid don't refuse it. accept where you are at in thee present and just being there in the moment!! you are a fighter and a survivor of being gas lighted, going through so much trauma and therapies!! yet you still smile through the pain you have faced in your journey.
