Jericho Rosales may have played a Philippine president in “Quezon,” but he also took on the role of a protective boyfriend while in Hollywood. A video showing the actor carrying girlfriend Janine Gutierrez to keep her from stepping into rainwater has gone viral on social media. In the clip shared by @pinkbenz, Jericho could be seen carrying Janine across a stretch of pavement as rainwater flowed along the side of the street in Hollywood. The couple, who were both dressed to the nines for the occasion, appeared unfazed by the wet streets. Jericho wore a formal suit, while Janine was dressed in an elegant lacey white gown. The video was captioned, “Coz it’s raining in Manila, pati dito sa Hollywood 🤣🌧️,” a playful nod to the familiar rainy weather back home. Also seen in the video was TBA Studios president Daphne Chiu, producer of “Quezon,” in which Jericho plays the title role. The group was in Los Angeles for the Hollywood premiere of “Quezon,” directed by Jerrold Tarog, at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Sept. 5 as part of the 2026 Manila International Film Festival. The historical drama, which stars Jericho as former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon, was among the films featured in the festival’s Hollywood lineup. While the occasion called for formal attire and red-carpet appearances, the rain provided an unexpected interruption—and an opportunity for Jericho to make sure Janine’s elegant dress stayed dry.
