It’s not illegal this is Dunn in competitive Cheer. I see it all the time. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader. You may think it’s illegal, but it’s not.

They also need to know. If they have the insurance through NFHS and a kid gets hurt doing something illegal…that insurance doesn’t kick in AND the school is gonna be BIG mad

you act like we dropped her and she died. we had mats there (that you cut out) the bases are very very experienced with doing things like this. if you go around to different schools they are all doing illegal things. also none of us had jewelry on. thank you for your concern!

i’ve been a high school coach for 8 years and here’s what it comes down to. high schools will hire anyone who will take over cheerleading because they don’t want to find someone else to take it over.

Every time I see a middle school or high school cheerleader with jewelry on I want to just shake the coach. That tells me that you do not know basic roles. I had to tell a team to take their jewelry off when they came into our gym for a basketball game. They said well our coach lets us wear it. I said that is illegal and you’re not wearing it in my gym. Take it off or you have to leave. They took it off.

🤣🤣 I’m 45 my school always did those stunts in the 90s our school went to Dallas for national competition and our school came in 3rd in the country and they have been doing stunts like that since we fill out permission forms every year

Relax most of these girls put in countless hours year round training at an outside gym. Many of these girls are probably already at or near collegiate level of performance. The only problem in HS is that they mix these well trained athletes with recreational doing it for the poms and cute outfits performers.

My daughter cheered for 4 years both basketball and football. She would get so irritated because at the rules but understood it was for safety. I was so glad that her coach stuck to her guns about these rules.

Can you explain what exactly is illegal? Is it because it’s a double? Or twist cradles period illegal? We did that stuff in the early 2000’s, but I understand rules change. My daughter is doing twist baskets right now in high school cheer 😬

I think is crazy how this cheer coaches put girls to do stunts when is their first time doing cheer in their life, and they have no background on cheer or dance school must of this girls that done cheer or dance are flexible because they been doing for a while or since they were young I see girls getting dropped or injured do to the negligence of the coaches but sport director will not do anything about it even if he knew they’re putting girls at risk.

Triples are illegal even in all star cheer. Doubles were legal when I was competing and the amount of kids I saw drill their heads into the ground or into the faces of their stunt group make me glad they rescinded that rule. Kids have a lot of time to hone skills and compete more difficult stuff later in life. On the football track is just not the time.

This has been going on since I was in HS 20 years ago…. During basketball season when we had our co-ed guys we would throw back tuck baskets during half-time 😅
