@thestorydaily: A local man took to Threads to share an amusing yet cautionary experience after his site workers gifted him wild bird nests to decorate his front porch. According to him, the workers handed him the nests and said: "Bos, ini angkat. Letak depan rumah bos. Kasi cantik itu depan rumah. Macam landscape." He initially brought them home before concerned netizens quickly sounded the alarm. As it turns out, the nests belong to Burung Tempua (Weaver Bird), which is protected under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 (Act 716). Keeping or possessing them without a PERHILITAN permit carries a potential fine of RM50,000 to RM500,000, or imprisonment. Following the warnings, the man confirmed that he immediately returned the nests back to the wild. Did you know keeping these nests is an offense?
