I hear this nonsense all the time. They never mention the president of that time was stealing billions and part of it was finding its way to Putin. The people finally had enough and revolted over a vote to bring Ukraine closer to the EU and move away from Russia. The president cancelled it even though the parliament voted for it and guess where the president fled with part of his billions? Russia. If I recall correctly Ukraine was able to grab back part of what he stole. That’s what happened no CIA that the people I spoke to. Just fed up citizens

Western media hid so much they portrayed as if just some peaceful revolution in Ukraine against Russia aggressor and when Russia said is not it they claimed it’s Russia propaganda. When few western media outlets warned of neo nazzi rise up again ,this was heavily ignored and claimed as propaganda.

Some might suggest that promises made when Germany reunified that the 'West' would not move eastwards towards Russia but yes 2014 was definitely a major event glossed over by Western media.

Yanocovich, supported by russian oligarchs who hired professional american media manipulator like Paul Manafort( look him up)....had their first election nullified by ukrainian courts because of voter intimidation and ballot stuffing. In a reelection, he lost to yushchenko who was eventuallypoisoned using russian military chemical weapons. In his second election, he, following the orders of Manafort, PROMISSED the ukrainian electirate that if winning he would support political move to leave russian oligarch corruptive influence and strenghthen ties with the EU. on this basis he won. however, when the decision to look westward was to be made in 2014...he reneged and tried to establish ties with russia. when the ukrainians demonstrated at Maidan for months .... yanocovich sent in secret police and murdered 116 prptesters....this action caused a general revolt and yanocovich fled to russia. the rest is history. it is disingenous to accuse the ukrainians of being so stupid that they were led like sheep. Ukrainians, true carriers of the cossack heritage of the steppe and forrest, have always fought to make their voice and language heard...as the russians are now learning and the west is suprised to see. Russia Kaput. cut by cut by cut.
