!! OCS !! Lore summary: Orpheus (long haired dude) is one of the children of god in my universe. Each of his siblings also have a role given to them by their parents to keep Earth balanced. Santiago is the one on the left in the "never had a home" part, and Gyra is on the right. Santiago controls all wildfire and Gyra controls all water. Orpheus is the bookkeeper. He tends to the Astral library, a neverending spiral of a building with walls filled with a book representing every single person on Earth. He cannot create or destroy a story, but he can extend its ending or make it begin earlier in the timeline. He has full creative freedom over everyone's life. He is tasked with making as many stories as he possibly can. Over time, his siblings began to resent him as they believed his job was easier than theirs. Eventually, he was all by himself. One day, he started to realize that he couldn't keep creating tragic stories of parents treating their kids badly due to their self expression without a real motive behind it. There are no religions currently on Earth at this time that have strict rules. So logically, he decides to manufacture one himself. This is where Ophelia (unicorn girl) comes in. She was meant to be a normal girl, but he altered her to have mythical attributes to make the whole thing more believable to people. Then, he leaves her be and lets her live among humans until she is 10 years old. Most people want absolutely nothing to do with her, and others are weirdly fascinated and scare her away. She's pretty much alone for most of her childhood and is always treated as different. Then, Orpheus gets in her mind. He tells her that she has to go to churches who practice Astralism (the main religion at this point) and tell them all of the things that God disapproves of. At this point, she believes he IS God. She proves to these Astralists at her local church that she is in fact in touch with a higher being that claims to be God, and she pretty much becomes a prophet. She believes everything he's saying is true and that if she doesn't abide by the things he is saying she will be sent to a "hell" when she passes. These things include being anything other than straight, not getting married, not having kids, always abiding by gender roles, etc. This cult Orpheus made and made her lead was literally just so he can make more angst to balance out the good in the world. Eventually the truth comes out that he doesn't really believe in these things and that there IS no damnation because Ophelia ends up falling for a girl. But to keep the order, he convinces her to go along with everything and lead these people down this strict path or else she WILL be sent somewhere bad.
