This movie was underrated. I liked that the lore behind the cannibals was left ambiguous, instead of the viewer being spoon-fed a cause or reason. It added a level of realism to it that was genuinely unsettling. It gets some critcism for looking like it was made to be a tumblr edit, but it's pretty gritty. Also, the subtext for the cannibalism keeps you guessing. Like it is it about addiction? The unintended cycles of abuse and neglect? Or a broader issue.
