Taxol was derived from the yew tree that only grows in northeast part of US. I was a gyn-oncology/chemo nurse for around 10 years. I think it was due to allergy to the component from the tree. We always premedicated patients to minimize reactions. I also stayed with my patients during first dose for at least 15 minutes. And immediately stopped the infusion if I saw possible reaction. I miss my patients and taking care of them. Retired now after teaching for 20 years!

I did 6 rounds of carboplatin and taxol and it kicked my butt!!! have neuropathy but im cancer free!!!🥰

I only did 2 taxol then had to be switched to abraxane. It was terrible and not on the list.

I did 6 Taxol treatments and 25 radiation treatments....my body didn't handle the taxol and took 8 hrs to run through....have neuropathy in my feet ....my symptoms didn't start until the third day after treatment then I couldn't walk from refrigerator to my couch without feeling like I was going to pass out...lasted about 3 to 4 days...food tasted the same but everything I drank was flat even if it had carbonation in it....wouldn't wish this shit on my worst enemy

The nausea you feel at the taste and essence of the flush. It has a slightly minty alcohol essence and it would make me start to gag

Ugh , did carbo and taxol… for 6 chemos. It was rough with leg pain. I still have horrible neuropathy, but I am grateful to be alive

Blood under my toenails at the time. 13 years later, I still have neuropathy in two of my toes. Small price to pay, though, for being cancer free. (Taxol was just part of my 14-month treatment)

@V A L E R I E 🎀🎗️🐸: Just knocked out number 29 of 36 round of Taxol today. Neuropathy is there in fingers, toes and feet, taxol nails are gross but never have nausea so I’ll take it. Also doing Zometa every 28 days and get a Phesgo shot every 3 weeks. Been doing this treatment since January. 🙃 ohhhhhhh and can’t forget the insomnia 💀

My husband’s very first chemo treatment was Taxol and he had an allergic reaction to it within seconds after they started the drip. A whole team rushed into action with a crash cart and everything. Scared the hell out of us. He’s cancer free today, 10 years later. ❤️

2 drops causing me to feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest and finding it hard to breathe? Nothing like hearing the crash cart running toward you! Luckily it wasn't needed but was close. I have heard there is now a drug they give you before hand to help prevent this...

My mom did Taxol her 2nd round, she got 2 treatments in and took a turn for the worst. She could not handle it. She was 84, good health before we heard that dreaded C word.
