Texas Fishing Addiction :
I can relate it’s a horrible existence. I’ve had two fusions L4L5 and S1L5 and I’m having ten levels fused next month.

Oh girl, I feel your pain. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 years. Currently going to a pain management specialist because they can’t seem to diagnose where the issue is coming from. They also haven’t given me jack as far as meds go to help. Went to the ER it was so bad a few weeks ago. They gave me prednisone and a pain pill. The prednisone helped so much but I know it’s terrible for your body. I wear my tens unit a lot, walk walk walk, & have a SI joint belt that helps put pressure to area that helps as well. I also use a lacrosse ball to help loosen my glutes. My lower back will feel like it’s in a vice grip, though. I’ve bought enough lidocaine roller tubes to keep them in business. If you find a solution let us know!! In the meantime, we are walking with you sis!!

Bestie, I’m begging you to try decompression. I was scheduled for lumbar fusion but in the meantime, I decided to try decompression because surgery was four months away. After five weeks, my pain decreased so much. I canceled the surgery. Best decision I ever made. I still go once every two weeks to get the decompression. I’m so glad I chose this instead of surgery. Please look into it.

Had L5-S1 fusion in 2018. Helped most of my leg pain and sciatica, but low back pain is horrible at times. I was addicted to pain meds for 6 years, but don’t take them anymore. Injections and nerve ablations constantly.

I’m on month four. Epidural failed. Physical therapy for six weeks, taught me what I needed to know, but it was obvious it wasn’t enough. I decided to take things into my own hands and be my own physical therapist. I’m close to being healed. But I still can’t sit. Lol

Oh honey, I have been there and am back there again. I had 2 microdiscectomies at L5-S1 done 11 years ago. Now I am up at 4 am with the same pain in my arm from my neck. I can't seem to find any relief and yes, our healthcare sucks. Hang in there.

I'm 3 wks out of surgery im thankful no more pain. I had l5 s1 my lowest Verdi was 6 cm off my spine they had to move it back. The shot did help with siatic pain it took 3 wks but it helped. I really hope you find relief.

Yep thats me! I have had some relief lately. Taking lyrica and a brand new med called journavx. I also got an epidural the other day which was excruciating. It hasn’t kicked in yet. I need surgery. It took forever to get any help. Its ridiculous

I was in the same boat as you L5 S1 herniation and it’s the worst, waiting for one appointment just to have to wait for another. I just had my microdisectomy on Tuesday and the sciatica relief was instant. Only have incision site pain now. They did tell me that there is barely any disc left and I will eventually need a fusion. Stay strong, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. 🫶
