Luckily, I had some errands to run in the area, so I knew it was finally time to make the trip! We were originally planning to just wing it, but being the Type A person I am, I decided to pre-order. And THANK GOODNESS I did because when we arrived, most of the pastries were already sold out 😭 Thankfully, their iconic bagels are available to order on the day, so we still had plenty to choose from. We started with the Black Forest Suisse, which was VERY chocolate-heavy. The mister absolutely loved it, but as someone who isn’t a huge chocolate fan, it was a little too much for me. The Ube Coconut Crescent was much more up my alley. Delicate, light, and not overly sweet - this was definitely my favourite pastry of the bunch. For something fruity, the Mango Vanilla Danish was phenomenal. It had such a lovely balance of sweetness and tartness, with all those beautiful layers coming together so well. And for something savoury, we went for the Rare Beef Bagel. We’ve had our fair share of mediocre rare beef sandwiches, but THIS one seriously raised the bar. The beef was cooked beautifully and everything worked so well together. This is what a rare beef sandwich should be. So. Damn. Good. 👏 If you’re in the outer eastern suburbs, definitely add Drom Bakery to your list.
