Bred Until She Could Barely Breathe, This Beautiful Bulldog Was Then Dumped At A Shelter, Deemed No Longer “Useful...” Gasping for air and barely able to breathe, Willow was dumped at a shelter. A victim of backyard breeding herself, she was born with the severe respiratory issues that commonly plague flat-faced breeds. As a result of prolonged neglect and mistreatment, Willow is now in critical condition. This is what happens when people profit from lives they don’t intend to protect. The Animal Rescue Mission partnered with our friends at Beezy’s Rescue to pull Willow from the shelter and arrange life-saving BOAS (brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome) surgery and a spay. This was supposed to be the first step of her new life, but she became overwhelmed with stress upon arriving at the hospital. She vomited in the car and her vitals began to crash. Willow was emergency-intubated on the spot and stabilized just in time. And even after that terrifying start, she made it through both surgeries, thanks to a phenomenal veterinary team. Now, Willow is being transferred to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Santa Monica, CA for overnight monitoring in an oxygen chamber to make sure she can breathe safely and continue recovering. Her care has become a $30,000 emergency —a massive financial blow to our rescue. We try to stretch every dollar, to plan and prepare, but this was unexpected, and urgent. And now, we need your help. Some might say that’s too much for one dog. But we don’t see “just one dog.” We see Willow, a soul who never asked to suffer. A dog who was born into pain, and now—finally—has the chance to feel what it’s like to live without struggling for every breath. Her sister, dumped alongside her, is scheduled for BOAS surgery next week. Please donate if you can. Your gift means life-saving care. It means air in her lungs. It means a second chance. 🔗DONATE - LINK IN BIO #rescuedog #bulldog #stopanimalcruelty #stopbreeding #stopanimalabuse
