@polishedandpeaceful: Please don't fight in the comments, but... are you cleaning up your beds this fall or leaving them for the pollinators? 🦋👀 Let's talk about it. #gardeningtips #cottagegarden #perennials #beginnergardener #gardenproject
I leave my garden beds as they are until the spring. The only thing that gets cleared/mowed is my lawn.

Doing big renovations this year and unfortunately dried out coneflower seed heads are basically as prickly as my roses, so we’re getting chopped this year 🥲

Leaving. Last year, I left the leaves and my lawn has never looked better. This year, the birds will have things to eat all winter from my yard.

Zone 4a I leave EVERYTHING I can for as long as I can! the bees are loving it right now. I even have silent blue winged wasps and spiders. I have the perfect eco system in my little garden. I don't clean it up until after the first frost. my garden is absolutely stunning right now

Leaving it all. Many pollinators have laid eggs in there and don’t want them thrown away in the trash. ✌️

Absolutely leaving it. I did not learn the benefit of this until about five years ago, and I regret all the times I didn't leave food and shelter for the winter for the little critters.

I leave them alone. Cut 1/2 the coneflowers and black eyed Susan’s cause they have taken over my gardens. But most of the robins are gone here and the Goldfinches have a softer song 🥰plus lightening bugs need the leaves to pupate.

Our chickens get put on our garden once everything is spent and the nightshades are removed. Survival of the fittest! Hah

It stays pretty warm in my zone (9a), so I will be doing a second planting of a lot of the plants I would normally have in the spring. We don’t have a very long period of freeze so I’m considering trying in-bed composting over the winter.

totally tilling them up and planting a heavy cover crop of purple top turnips and spreading lime at 2000 lb per acre then mow them off next spring and put 6 inches of horse manure on and till it in 4 times and plant and watch the miracle of God's blessings unfold again 🙌 ❤️

I leave grasses until spring. Coneflower gets cut after hard frost because the birds dont come back to it after that. They’re in my feeders. Bulkin up for winter. Personally, I like look much better.

Beds & under trees everything stays. Yard gets mowed (at 4-4.5 inches) in late Sept. (8b here). Grass clippings left at woodland edges for Wildlife use & to compost. Invasives deadheaded, removed, or severely pruned. Fighting Nandina right now.😕
