I started with that size back in 2012 and I still work with it. You can fit up to 9 photos/art on a single Letter or A4 size paper sheet, which a lot of people prefer due to minimal paper waste. The 2 inch has the cheapest supply refills, which allows for a bit of room for a higher margin. 9 magnets of 2x2 weight 6.06 oz or 172g and they fit in a small shipping box of around 3x4x4 inches. The price of supplies is 0.22 cents per magnet, shipping and paper not included. Super easy to ship, high margin. One of the hidden advantages of the smaller size - customers can fit more of your magnets on a single fridge. More magnets, more sales. 2.5 inch square. I do get asked a lot if I have a slightly bigger size. While you can go 3x3 (which is a separate beast on its own), 2.5 sits right in the perfect middle, where pictures look a little bit bigger. Business cards and business into fit a little more comfortably without the worry of fonts being too small. You can fit up to 6 images of 2.5" on a single A4 or Letter size sheet of paper. The 6 magnets weight 6.2 oz or 178g. The price of supplies is 25% higher than 2inch square (0.22c per magnet vs 0.28c, shipping not included). But they still fit into a 3x4x4 inch box. And last but definitely not least -2x3! This is your entrance into the serious league. With 2x3 it's easier to approach businesses because most art and cards require a bit more room than 2x2, and not every artist is willing to chop off part of their hard work to fit into a square. Large groups of people in a photo will fit more comfortably on 2x3, and if you offer both 2x3 AND 2x2 it's just the right variety to cover most businesses. You can fit up to 6 images on a single A4 or letter size sheet. They still fit into a smaller box and 6 images weight 6.2 oz or 176g. The price of supplies is 0.28 cents per magnet (shipping not included). Again 25% jump from 2x2 inch. I still believe that what you market best is what sells best.
