People forget that Wormtongue was not an actual name, but that after the events of LotR the King's advisor was called "Wormtongue" and it stuck so well that his actual name was lost to time. My guess is this guy will go down as Craig in the history books.

it reminds me of the classic trope of the scheming Vizier in the islamicate world; in real life usually, this was one of the few positions that was promoted because of merit and they were usually very generous and kind people and often started from a very difficult position such as being literal slaves.
