@lovethebeys: When we got married 7 years ago, I never got to do any of this. No wedding ceremony, no real bridal experience, none of those little moments you think about when you imagine getting married. So when we decided to renew our vows here in Kenya, I wanted to experience it differently this time. I didn’t just want to have a ceremony in Kenya, I wanted Kenya to actually be a part of it. 🤎 That’s how I ended up at @thrivevitalitycenter getting traditional bridal henna for the first time and y’all I was obsessed 😩 Watching her do all of this BY HAND was crazy. The patience alone because baby I could never 😂 I also didn’t know how much history was behind bridal henna here. Henna has been part of Swahili wedding traditions in Kenya for generations, which made doing this feel even more special. It’s kinda crazy that I’m already 7 years into being somebody’s wife and just now getting these bridal moments 😂 but honestly I think I appreciate them even more now.
