I usually silicone the shit out of the holes before putting in the anchors. You just drilled right through the waterproofing.

Slap a 2 x 6 and behind there and screw directly into wood I never use those anchors whether it’s a grab bar slide bar doesn’t matter at least screw into something solid and then silicone in the living shit out of the holes and brackets.

Will it hold with no wood brace on the back? Always read those should have a strong support in the back or will break off if any large weight is pulling it from accidentally falling away.
