This is why the DC movies suck so much, they suck at actually doing what the comics do. The conflict in a good DC story shouldn't be about the hero simply defending the bad guy, it should be Superman having to decide between letting the bad guy get away or saving the school bus full of children that just got thrown at him, it's about how he manages a social life while being Superman. We know Superman is always going to win a fight he's Superman. There is suspense in whether or not he's going to be able to keep his day job, or make rent, or realize the cute coworker is hitting on him. That's why the DC comics are so good and the movies are so bad.

MCU glamorizes existing systems and gives us Blk & White stories with conventionally attractive buff yt men who shoot lasers out their hands where as DC incorporates real world systems and illustrates the nuances, rigged and diverse experience of the characters living in there. In a nutshell, MCU glamorizes existing systems and works as propaganda, DC interogates and works around real world problems.

People who use “woke” as a negative trait have already proven they’re not exactly qualified to judge any form of media. Most of the time, “woke” just means that a story includes people or perspectives they don’t want to see. If your idea of “woke propaganda” is simply seeing someone on screen who isn’t white, male, and straight, then the problem isn’t the art it’s your bigotry. You can dislike a movie, but calling it “woke” isn’t an argument; it’s just a way of disguising prejudice as criticism.

Yell it louder for the people in the back. Why in the world cops/law enforcement keep using the Punisher skull is beyond me. It’s an outlaw symbol used by someone who takes the law into his own hands because the system failed him. He’s literally deciding to become judge, jury, and executioner. When you are member of law enforcement you are ideally supposed to uphold the law. You shouldn’t like The Punisher since he doesn’t believe in the law and takes it into his own hands. By a cop/law enforcement officer wearing it they’re basically saying that they take the law into their own hands and don’t uphold it. And that’s what would put them in The Punisher’s crosshairs since he hates cops and them using his symbol

The ppl who miss the political commentary in the Punisher and especially the X-Men are the same ppl who get mad at bands like Rage Against the Machine and GreenDay for being "too political" at their shows now lol.
