I think one of the most dangerous positions a man can find himself in is having too much time and absolutely nothing meaningful to do with it. Because that time rarely stays empty. If you don’t decide what deserves your attention, eventually something else will decide for you. You start scrolling more. Sleeping later. Watching things you shouldn’t be watching. Chasing women. Spending money for no reason. Looking for entertainment because you genuinely have nothing better to wake up for. And slowly, things you once knew were beneath you start becoming normal. I’ve seen this happen to so many men. It’s not always that they suddenly became bad people. They just stopped having anything meaningful demanding something from them. A man needs responsibility. People depending on him. Something difficult he’s trying to build. Something that forces him to control his desires today because there’s somewhere he needs to be tomorrow. And I think this is one of the reasons responsibility can actually be such a blessing for a man. Your salah gives structure to your day. Your family gives you people to provide for and protect. Your work gives you problems to solve. Training teaches you discipline. Serving other people reminds you that your life isn’t only about yourself. You don't need to be obsessed with productivity every second of the day. Rest is important. But there’s a massive difference between resting after responsibility and living for comfort. A man with a mission simply has less room in his life for nonsense. So if you’re feeling lost right now, don’t sit around waiting to suddenly “find yourself.” Find something worth taking responsibility for.
