The polls are 100% tragically understaffed and we need young people, as in under 60YO. I turn 50 this year and all but one person (who’s 48) at my polling location have 10+ years on me. It’s usually quite fun and, although a long day, makes me proud to be part of the process. Come work with us!!

I equate this with Current Events - I loved taking Current Events in high school. We all had to bring in a newspaper - local, state, national or even a trustworthy magazine - and we had to read them and discuss them in class. I learned so much from that class. You’d learn about local government happenings, how to read the classifieds, what the next elections were and what was being voted on, what jobs were needing workers and then you’d learn about jobs you’d never heard of, we learned about stocks, heck - we had even had to read the obits and so many other things. Opinions, facts, history.
