@davecollins295: Lessons are the smart way to go when you’re first starting out riding. Just pay for the hour and no other expense. #ranchlife #ridinglessons #horses
I guess I’ve had a different experience. My horse was free and it costs me about $100 a month to keep on my property!

it may be cheap compared to boarding a horse or compared to other lesson barns. but $70 an hour isn't cheap and most people can't afford a hobby that expensive. at least not at a level where they are looking at improving their skills beyond amateur riding. that's $280 a month to ride 4 hours a month. when you're living paycheck to paycheck that kind of money isn't feasible for a hobby. no matter how much you love it.

I spent 1,200 bucks for two horses that were life-changing horses for 20 years the amount of money paid for a horse is not matter

it's so much cheaper to take 2 or 3 lessons a week than to own an actual horse. I used to own them until I learned this simple life hack. 😭

Taking lessons is actually more expensive because when you take lessons you fall in love with horses and then you go buy your own so now you’ve spent lesson money AND your own horse money and now you might be taking $100 lessons while also having the expenses of your own horse. Ask me how I know 😂

Yep I pay $80 a week for a part time lease and I use all her tack and her property. I go twice a week for 4 or 5 hours. I get horsey time and she pays the bills lol
