Schroeder valve has a sealing cap on it so it is double protected against leakage. Rarely leak.

so if it was leaking, you have air in the system, so guess what, you still need to buy a $6000 refrigerant system, and properly recover, vacuum and recharge.... a shop will charge $200 to perform a complete service
