@yourdenverrealtorco: Denver just landed two spots on the New York Times list of the absolute best Mexican restaurants in the country. The Times published the list on August 13th, after traveling the country for over a year to find just 41 total spots. The first spot they picked is La Diabla on Larimer Street. Chef José Avila built this spot around the traditional soup shops he grew up with in Mexico City. It's Denver’s first restaurant dedicated entirely to pozole, which is a rich, slow-cooked soup made with pork and corn. They serve 5 different styles, but the Times highlighted their rich black pozole as the standout. The second spot on the list took a completely different path. They selected Alma Fonda Fina in LoHi, which is run by chef Johnny Curiel and his wife Kasie. They opened on December 8th, 2023, and earned a Michelin star, which is one of the highest honors in the food world, in just 9 months. Even after winning that star, they kept their menu à la carte on purpose, so you can order individual dishes instead of paying for a giant, expensive tasting menu. People who say Denver has the worst food are just racist and don’t wanna go to where the real good food is. Federal and aurora.
