I’ll tell you what finding good honest attorneys is almost like an oxymoron but when you find one, don’t let them go. I’m blessed that I found some that I’ve used too many times say. When I needed to retain them for a federal case after the Feds told me I was targeted. Paid that 30 K retainer, they ended up applying it towards the flat fee post indictment 4 yrs later. Instead of asking for an additional 200k (on top of the 30k I already paid) they said man just throw us another 30 and we’ll call it even. Then went and won the case. Lawyers that truly take care of you are very rare.

I actually got a fire my first attorney because he didn't do anything for me. The case stood on his desk for a year and a 1/2. Almost now I got another attorney, and they're saying they're waiting for the paperwork from the first, so

yeah they all the same and don't forget the judge that sits on the bench she's been a lawyer too so they quite kind of make things last longer so the lawyer can make more money it's all racket the system sucks

Yes, but sometimes you can get by with a cheap attorney and sometimes you need the expensive one. They key is knowing which one you need and retainer really isn't a good way to measure that. Focusing on the retainer amount is a trap.
