i was taught that if you leave the Rez, go get educated and come back to uplift your community. yes it may be hard to leave but it will always remain the same, explore yourself and choose your path brother 🪶 us natives are rooting for you

I’ve only been on my Rez (PGST) a few times. Was never raised around the culture, the family, etc. I wish I had that community.

Living on the rez is weird. Because we’re told to go to school so you can come back and better your community! But then you’re taught it’s frowned upon to come back. When I first came back I felt shamed. I’ve worked for my community for over 15 years and Im proud to be working hard to help better my community 🫶

Hi from Kansas , moved from Oglala , Pine Ridge reservation. Born in Canada but raised in South Dakota. I get to visit my tribe and fam in Canada once a year maybe twice. I don’t want to move back to the Rez , yet I guess.. 😌

I moved to my Rez for the first time in my life 5 years ago. It’s been a beautiful 5 years learning, connecting, ceremonies, sweat lodge ❤️but my family and I are ready to move on but I’m struggling no one in the city can understand our way of life, the connection we have with one and another our children and elders. But home will always be here. Home accepted 🥹🫶🏽

I haven’t lived on my rez since I was like 5 or 6. I would go back now and then to visit family and see my grandma, but now that she’s gone it feels so different. The rez I remember is gone and even if I go back, I’ll never be able to have what I used to…
